Rebranding a White-Label Social Media Kit in Canva for a Client: Brand Kit, Colors and Resizing

A white-label social media kit usually arrives as a set of Canva templates in neutral colors and placeholder fonts. Rebranding it for a client is mostly a matter of loading the client’s brand assets once and then applying them consistently across every post, story and banner. The steps below follow Canva’s Help Center as of October 2026. Canva updates its features often, so check the linked pages before you start.

1. Set Up a Brand Kit for the Client

Canva describes a Brand Kit as a place to store logos, color palettes, fonts and brand guidelines. On desktop, select Brand from the homepage side panel, open the Brand Kit dropdown and choose Create new Brand Kit, then add the client’s assets. Canva says admins and brand designers on Pro, Teams, Business and Education plans can create multiple Brand Kits, which makes it practical to keep one kit per client. Note that some brand features, such as applying Brand Kit colors, are described in Canva’s help for team accounts, so confirm what your plan includes.

2. Recolor the Kit

  • To swap one color everywhere, select an element using it, open the Color tile and pick the replacement from the Brand Kit palette, then choose Apply to all pages.
  • To try the whole palette at once, open the Brand tab, select Colors and use Apply, then Shuffle to cycle through combinations.
  • Unlock locked elements first; Canva notes that some complex graphics and app content cannot be recolored this way.

3. Replace Fonts, Logos and Placeholder Text

Change heading and body text to the client’s brand fonts, place the logo from the Brand Kit, and rewrite every caption and call to action in the client’s voice. This is also the moment to remove any leftover references to the original supplier.

4. Resize for Each Platform

Canva’s Resize tool lets you pick several sizes at once and choose Copy & resize, which creates new designs and leaves the original intact. According to Canva, it is available on paid plans such as Pro and Teams, and each Magic Resize use counts toward a monthly AI usage limit. Review each resized version, since text and images may need nudging.

5. Check the License Before Delivery

Templates built with Canva elements carry Canva’s own license terms on top of the supplier’s. Viking PLR’s article How to Rebrand PLR Canva Templates Without Breaking Canva’s License covers those points in detail.
